Figs!

I’m not really known for having a good track record with gardens. I tend to go full speed ahead with great intentions and then stall when it’s time for maintenance.

I was really hoping this time would be different and so far – victory! Figs are a huge part of my Italian up bringing. Especially the fresh ones! So delicious. In the early spring I saw a plant for sale at a local market and I had to get it – despite the “you know how you are” looks from my husband! I’ve been waiting all summer and finally I see these little fruit buds. YAY! I’m anxiously awaiting the ripening of these yummy sweet treats, though I’m a little disappointed with the leaf rust but I’m working on it!
There was a baby lizard on one of the leaves, I could resist snapping it’s picture! 🙂
