Remember the little cowgirl hat cookies I made about a month ago? Well, this weekend her little sister will turn ONE! I clearly remember the day she was born. My husband and I were going up for a visit and so our son could meet my brother and his family. As we waited at the airport, and waited… I decided to call to find out where they would be meeting us. My brother’s response was “oh, you didn’t get my message?” Well, no, I didn’t. Surprisingly, his wife went into labor just a few hours before we flew in. We were picked up by extended family and brought to my brother’s house to spend quality time with their 3 other children! My son had a great time with his cousins but it sure was a busy weekend visit!
It’s been quite busy around here with our son’s potty training (fun, fun) and I had no time to sit down and think of what I could send for a birthday gift. (can we say – procrastinator!) I decided to go for something handmade. I used this cute little sunshine yellow shirt I got a while back and painted the baby’s initial on the front using a stencil I made and fabric paint. I love dots and just had to add a ring of those. I think it looks sweet and simple!
Also, rather than make sugar cookies that might break in transit due to my small packaging, I decided to do “L” shaped marshmallows! I think I’ll do squares with letter embossing next time because there wasn’t a whole lot of mallow due to the size and thin lines of these Ls. But, what a fun treat!
Happy Birthday Baby L!
