This past Saturday was the wonderful culmination of the last couple of weeks of planning. The wedding was for a sweet, middle-aged couple in our church. I was able to gain some experience in wedding planning under the best of circumstances. I’ve decorated for a few weddings in the past but this one included everything, from start to finish, except the catering. It helped a ton that there were Christmas poinsettias around already!
I printed their simple invitations, decorated the sanctuary, put together the bouquets and the boutonnieres, the centerpieces and all the decor in the reception hall, and coordinated with the caterer and photographer. The bride and groom wanted the theme colors to be aqua/teal and with some of their other requests, I ran with it.
I was a little nervous at the Rehearsal because I had never been fully in-charge before. Plus, it wasn’t really traditional in that the grandsons were asked if their grandma could marry the Groom and the Bride’s son walked her down the aisle. The Pastor helped me a lot in some of the decisions. It was beautiful and worked out great. The next morning I kicked it into gear though, and I was a lot more confident!
The church’s fellowship hall became the reception hall. I can’t wait until we’re able to redecorate that room. I think it would be much nicer if everything was a neutral color and the country-style border and valances were removed. But, that’s what I had to work with!
Our friend, Chad, was the photographer so I’ll upload some of his pictures in the near future!
Thanks for lookin’!

the dangling chandeliers and candle holder were really nice touches. I really liked that.
