I’m finally writing a new post here on my personal blog. This one is about Fondant. It’s basically a pliable sugar icing and has been used to create terrific cakes in all kinds of shapes and styles. It’s amazing to see what some bakers create! David’s brother, Jon, graduated with honors from Southeastern College and we had a party for him. This is my first real fondant covered character cake.
It’s not the greatest. But it’s a start. I’ll need to work on a better cake batter as the one I made was kind of tough. The fondant was from a store-bought box and it doesn’t taste good at all. But, the point was the character design and it got the message across. Next time it will be better and not so sloppy looking. haha
For those of you who remember, I did make a fondant covered cake for Linnie’s birthday, in the shape of a Publix ‘p’, but I can’t count that as a real one because that fondant wasn’t right at all. Too thick, obscure recipe, and, well, I just don’t count that! 🙂
That graduation cake looks so cool!
The graduation cake is the most creative cake I have ever seen!
Your talents are amazing; I can’t wait to see the kind of cake you create when your “little one” arrives!
You did a great job on the graduation cake. I, think it looks really cute. I, like it.
