Every year, like most, I bake cookies. Unlike many, I concentrate on making cookies that reflect my Italian heritage. Cookies like Pizzelles and Ossi dei Morti. This year is no different, though it will be much less baking than years past. Up to about 3 years ago I made 8-12 different types of cookies, days upon days of baking, giving them out to co-workers and clients throughout December. What changed 3 years ago? The process of the adoption of our son. Since then, as you might expect, I’ve not had the same amount of time to devote to baking as I used to. All the same, I enjoy every minute of my baking time and include my son in the process (and he loves it!)
Have you delved into your heritage to find out it’s cookie traditions? Go for it!
