I think it’s funny when commercials start popping up showing decor inspiration for ideas that have been around a while. I saw a Target commercial with a home decor expert showing a hostess how to add a little pizzazz to her table by adding ornaments to an apothecary vessel. (You know, the one where the hostess hides the expert in the closet when her guests arrive.) I love the idea, which is why I’ve been doing it for several years now. 😀
I think it was from a Martha show many years ago that shared the idea of using a glass covered pedestal stand to house ornaments and then I thought they would look elegant in other items as well.
This year I’ve combined blue and purple to create a color combo that isn’t uncommon but what I am now completely in love with!
On my coffee table I used this large platter/bowl to hold some regular pinecones I had around from Thanksgiving along with some glittery silver ones! Underneath it all are small battery operated LED lights for a soft glow. Cozy!
I also add small wreaths to the inside doors. I keep trying to find new places to hang things but I tend to go overboard with decor so this year I’m trying to hold back… It’s getting very festive around here! I hope you’re having a wonderfully decorated Christmas time as well!
